The two BP site leaders at the well - RobertKaluza and Donald Vidrine - have been indicted on manslaughter charges in the US for their alleged role in misinterpreting the test results.
Criminal proceedings remain pending for BP supervisors RobertKaluza and Donald Vidrine, who have been charged with manslaughter for their repeated disregard of abnormally high pressure readings that preceded the blowout of the Macondo well.
The company's case is hardly helped by the fact that RobertKaluza, BP's well manager on board the rig at the time of the disaster, has declined to testify in front of an investigation into it, pleading his fifth-amendment right to avoid self-incrimination.
