abstract:Pinta Island, also known as Abingdon Island, after the Earl of Abingdon, is an island located in the Galapagos Islands group, Ecuador. It has an area of 60 km² and a maximum altitude of 777 meters.
His death marks the end of the purebred PintaIsland tortoise, but there is hope that they will survive in some form: at least one first-generation descendant of the subspecies has been found at the Wolf volcano on neighboring Isabela Island.
