abstract:Peter Grimes is an opera by Benjamin Britten, with a libretto adapted by Montagu Slater from the Peter Grimes section of George Crabbe's poem The Borough. The "borough" of the opera is a fictional village which shares some similarities with Crabbe's, and later Britten's, own home Aldeburgh, on England's east coast, around 1830.
Kleinfelds success was primarily due to a little old lady working the sales floor and running the business, says PeterGrimes, publisher of the bridal industry trade magazine Vows.
Three concerts will be dedicated to English composer Benjamin Britten's centenary with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Vladimir Jurowski presenting opera PeterGrimes, War Requiem and rarely-performed orchestral music.
