Using a broad definition, Roland Berger, a consultancy, reckons that the global green-tech market was worth 1.4 trillion in 2007 and is likely to grow to 3.1 trillion by 2020, outstripping vehicle production. Germany is well positioned, with market shares of 30% in power generation and 20% in “sustainable mobility”.
