In Mississippi, one person died in KemperCounty, on the Alabama border Thursday, after strong winds destroyed a steel building along a highway, the National Weather Service reported.
Mississippi Emergency Management Agency spokesman Greg Flynn said Thursday one person died and several people were injured after a reported tornado struck KemperCounty in the far eastern part of the state.
He has also directed a number of big manufacturing concerns to Mississippi, including the KemperCounty coal plant, which is expected to create 260 permanent jobs and 1, 000 during peak construction, and a Toyota factory in the state's rural north that will employ 2, 000 people.
