abstract:The Gaulish language is an extinct Celtic language that was spoken in parts of France and the Swiss Rhine area C. Iulius Caesar, "Commentarii de Bello Gallico", Book 1, Chapter 1 in the Roman period, and is also considered to be epigraphically attested in Belgium and Northern Italy.
