The five sites in danger include Virunga, Garamba, Kahuzi-Biega, and Salonga National Parks, and the Okapi Wildlife Reserve, which are home to a unique range of floraandfauna including the Mountain Gorilla and the Okapi.
The reserve was designed to create a sustainable equilibrium between the flora, faunaand local population, and more than a million people live in this area.
The site is also deemed an important ecological reserveand the trust has sought to manage and protect the floraandfauna found on this rugged section of coastline.
