The massive sea creatures, called Echizenkurage in Japanese, measure up to sixfeet (1.83 meters) in diameter and weighmore than 450 pounds (204 kilos).
But recently fishermen off the coast of Japan have as often been pulling in jellyfish: the giant echizenkurage, Nomura's jellyfish, which can be over a metre across and weigh more than 150 kilos (330lbs).
