In July, security researcher Dan Kaminsky revealed a flaw in the Web's domainnamesystem, or DNS, the protocol that connects a Web site's name with its physical location on the Internet.
In this case, Spamhaus's DomainNameSystem(DNS) servers were targeted - the infrastructure that joins domain names, such as bbc.co.uk, the website's numerical internet protocol address.
