For the first time in the airline's history, businessclass saw higher percentages of seats filled than coach, said Singapore spokesman James Boyd, so the airline switched to a luxurious all-business-class configuration, with 100 lie-flat beds on a plane big enough to carry more than 300 passengers.
Mr. Black noted passengers were compensated with vouchers toward future flights in varying amounts depending on whether they were in coach or business-class.
