The ratio of non-performing loans at north-eastern bank branches is the highest inthe country, which is itself so overwhelmed with baddebts that the big state-owned banks need regular injections of capital in order to avoid insolvency.
Action is also expected in an effort to strengthen the Resolution and Collection Bank, which is meant to dispose of thebaddebts left over from failed banks.
