abstract:Anaplerotic reactions (from the Greek Ana= 'up' and Plerotikos= 'to fill') are those that form intermediates of a metabolic pathway. Examples of such are found in the Tricarboxylic acid (TCA) Cycle (also called the Krebs or citric acid cycle).
