荨麻科。常绿乔木，高8～15m。分布于越南北部，中国的广西西南部和西部、云南南部和东南部。生于海拔700～1000m的热带季节性雨林中。花期1～2月（云南）或9～10月（广西），果期4～5月（云南）。 本种是荨麻科中稀有的乔木树种，生长较快，树冠覆盖面大，可作为改善裸露石灰岩山小环境的树种。
