登月舱，是用来载送宇航员在月球轨道上的飞船和月球表面之间往返的交通工具。由于月球上没有空气，登月舱只能用火箭引擎推送，并可像直升机一样作垂直升降。登月舱在月面时，上升、下降段合二而一，但从月球表面再度起飞时，保有上升段起飞，下降段则是发射架，发射完毕后置留于月球表面。
