疏勒河是甘肃省河西走廊内流水系的第二大河，古名籍端水，全长540公里，流域面积20197平方公里。发源于祁连山脉西段托来南山与疏勒南山之间，西北流经肃北县的高山草地，贯穿大雪山到托来南山间峡谷，过昌马盆地。出昌马峡以前为上游，水丰流急，出昌马峡至走廊平地为中游，至安西双塔堡水库以下为下游。全流域已建成100万立方米以上水库5座，其中以双塔堡、党河及赤金峡水库较大。
