生物降解材料是一类在生物机体中，在体液及其酸、核酸作用下，材料不断降解被机体吸收，或排出体外，最终所植入的材料完全被新生组织取代的天然或合成的生物医用材料。包括多肽、聚氨基酸、聚酯、聚乳酸、甲壳素、骨胶原/明胶等高分子材料。P-磷酸三钙则属于生物陶瓷可降解材料，主要用于吸收型缝合线、药物载体、愈合材料、黏合剂以及组织缺损用修复材料。
