梵名 A^raN!yaka。音译阿兰耶迦、阿兰若迦。印度婆罗门教典籍。阿兰若迦，为森林之意，乃取“森林中遁世者所读诵”之义为名。系供婆罗门或刹帝利等上层种姓之婆罗门教徒过隐居生活时学习之用，为梵书之附属部分。此书与奥义书可谓梵书之续编。主要内容在阐述祭祀理论，以及人与自然、神等关系之哲学问题，其说幽微，在性质及形式上与梵书无大差别。现存之森林书有广森林书、鹧鸪氏森林书、他氏森林书、憍尸多基森林书等四种。后一种森林书共分三章，第三章为憍尸多基奥义书。
