桡骨骨折多发生于远端，极为常见，约占平时骨折的1/10。多见于老年妇女、儿童及青年。骨折发生在桡骨远端2～3cm范围内。常伴桡腕关节及下尺桡关节的损坏。 桡骨radius，为前臂双骨之一，分为一体和两端。上端形成扁圆形的桡骨头，头的上面有凹陷的桡骨头凹，与肱骨小头相关节。桡骨头周缘有环状关节面，与尺骨的桡切迹相关节。桡骨头下方光滑缩细为桡骨颈，颈的内下方有一较大的粗糙隆起名桡骨粗隆，是肱二头肌的抵止处。内侧缘锐利，又名骨间嵴，与尺骨的骨间嵴相对。外侧面中点的粗糙面为旋前圆肌粗隆。下端特别膨大，近似立方形。其远侧面光滑凹陷，为腕关节面，与近侧腕骨相关节。内侧面有尺骨切迹，与尺骨头相关节。外侧面向下突出，叫做桡骨茎突，它比尺骨茎突约低1～1.5厘米。
