上海杭州湾北岸滨海地区位于上海市南翼，东起临港新城，西至沪浙交界处，涉及浦东临港、奉贤、金山三个区域，区域总面积达1961．2平方公里，拥有海岸线105．74公里，约占全市江海大陆岸线的60%。 杭州湾北岸地区是一个以中等城市为主体，具有一定海岸线与港口特征，集沿海城市、港口、工业等多功能体系的经济开发区域，是长三角沿湾发展带的重要组成部分。
