挤压杆又叫挤压轴，是与挤压筒配套使用的最重要的挤压工具之一，它的作用是传递主柱塞产生的压力，通过挤压垫传递给金属，使金属在挤压筒内产生塑性变形，因此它在挤压时承受着很大的压力。在挤压管材时，如果挤压杆的设计、选择、使用不当，易产生弯曲变形，从而成为管子偏心的主要原因之一。此外，挤压杆在工作时还有可能产生端部压溃、龟裂和斜渣碎裂等。
