又称位觉嵴。由增厚的结缔组织和特殊的感觉上皮组成，鱼类以上动物内耳半规管中的位觉感受器。黏膜上皮有毛细胞和支持细胞。在三个半规管的膜壶腹内，有一侧粘膜增厚，并向腔内突出而成，呈横位的镰状隆起。其构造与位觉斑（囊斑）相似，所不同的是毛细胞顶端的纤毛束较长，并互相粘集成束，包埋于高帽状的胶质性的终帽内，其中无耳石，但终帽与嵴上皮之间有一微细的腔隙，这个腔隙与毛细胞的纤毛活动有关。壶腹嵴毛细胞的基部也被前庭神经节细胞的周围突的末梢所包绕。
