地层圈闭是指储集层由于纵向沉积连续性中断而形成的圈闭，即与地层不整合有关的圈闭。在地层圈闭中的油气聚集，称为地层油气藏。地层圈闭与前述构造圈闭不同：构造圈闭是由于地层变形或变位而形成；而地层圈闭则主要是由于储集层上、下部与不整合接触的结果而形成的。储集层遭风化剥蚀后，又被不渗透地层所超覆，形成不整合遮挡；或者在剥蚀面之上，渗透层沿不整合面超覆，不整合成为遮挡物。
