储热构造(reservoir structure)是指热储、盖层和热储岩体中的断裂系统。盖层位于储热层之上,起隔水隔热的封闭作用。某些原来无盖层的储热层,经过长期的水热活动,使上覆松散沉积物发生水热蚀变,或热水所含矿物质发生沉淀,使松散沉积物转变为不透水的泉胶岩层,形成的盖层称自封闭盖层(self-sealing caprock)。
