Maintain closeliaison and cooperation within the field of responsibility throughout the Organization and with other relevant national and international institutions to ensure full coordination and to avoid duplication of efforts.
Design, in closeliaison with the Divisions in the Sector and Field Offices as may be necessary, regular programme activities and extra budgetary projects for building human and institutional capacities on policy formulation and monitoring through the use of science and technology indicators and programmes to foster inter-regional cooperation in close cooperation with the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS).
