There seem to be few surviving images of men, and yet we see a remarkable ivory puppetlike male figure found in Brno, CzechRepublic, and carved about 26, 000 years ago that includes highly articulated anatomical details.
Two built works of this period are landmarks of the modern movement -- the German Pavilion at the 1929 International Exposition in Barcelona, demolished in 1930 and rebuilt in 1986, and the 1930 Tugendhat house, which survives in Brno in the CzechRepublic.
