abstract:Brian Butterworth is emeritus professor of cognitive neuropsychology in the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience at University College London.Emeritus Staff – UCL Division of Psychology and Language Sciences, accessed 2012-10-30 His research has ranged from speech errors and pauses, short-term memory deficits, dyslexia, reading both in alphabetic scripts and Chinese, and mathematics and dyscalculia.
The work, by Professor BrianButterworth, has shown that dyscalculic children are troubled by even the simplest numerical tasks such as selecting the larger of two numbers or counting the number of objects in a display.
