Mogadishu, Somalia (CNN) -- A suicide bomber drove a car packed with explosives into a convoy carrying a Qatari delegation in Mogadishu Sunday, killing at least eight people and wounding seven, authorities and witnesses said.

The Taliban say they carried the attack, adding that a suicide bomber drove into the compound of a US-based engineering and construction company.
