abstract:Beverly Ann Donofrio (born 23 September 1950) is a memoirist, children's author and creative writing teacher most noted for her 1992 best selling memoir, Riding in Cars with Boys. The memoir was adapted into the 2001 film Riding in Cars with Boys directed by Penny Marshall with actress Drew Barrymore portraying Donofrio.
