The Baudisch Reaction was discovered by Oskar Baudisch in 1939 and further developed by his colleague Cronheim. In the reaction a solution containing aqueous hydroxylamine hydrochloride and hydrogen peroxide reacts with benzene or phenol, with the assistance of copper(II) to give o-nitrosophenols.
