By a combination with living radical polymerization technique, novel rod-coil block copolymers consisted rigid helical segment and flexible coil can be easily prepared. The copolymers are readyly self-assemble to form robust supramolecular structures, including spherical micelles, rods, tubules, vesicles, lamellar structures, and perforated layer structures. They may find important application in the development of functional nanomaterials, drug delievery, and nano-reactors.
