This paper investigated the fertilization ability of bovinc frozen-thawed sperm by penetrating the zona-free ova of hamster.We detected the frozen-thawed sperm of 36 Simmental,23 Charolais and 12 Limousin,the results showed that the frozen-thawed sperm of these three breeds could penetrate the zona-free ova of hamster,and formed male pronucleuses.The penetrating rate was 70%～80%，and the rate of pronucleuses formation was about 30%.Conclusion:this method is valid for detecting the fertilization ability of frozen-thawed sperm.
