The convention and the exhibition informed the visitors about the significance, adoption and promotion of science as the precursor of collective well-being, and for the attainment of national and Millennium Development Goals.
This mandate of UNESCO has been further emphasized through a variety of resolutions and initiatives, such as the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and the adoption of the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
