Abrupt mental disorder,which was diagnosed as induced psychosis according to CCMD-2-R, occured in 18 cases of heroin addicts during compulsory detoxification. After clinical studies,it was found that the addicts psychopathic state,psychological stress,deficiency of social contact,and low educational level were important factors inducing the incidence of this disease. The main clinical complications were identical delusion and affective disorder, which were soon alleviated after isolation.
