On the night of 22 to 23 August 1791, an uprising began in Saint Domingue (present-day Haiti) that would lead to theabolitionofthe transatlantic slavetrade.
The seminar is one ofthe events marking the commemoration on 23 August, ofthe International Day for the Remembrance oftheSlaveTrade and of its Abolition, and part ofthe lead up to the United Nations Decade for People of African Ascent (2013-2022).
