深熔作用（anatexis）又称重熔作用。先形成岩石的熔化作用。由于温度增高(压力不变)或压力下降(温度不变),岩石产生部分熔融或不完全熔融。熔融沉积直立边界发生,熔浆可从部分熔融的岩石系统中释出,或保留在该系统中。如部分熔融的地壳硅铝质岩石产生的花岗岩质熔浆、部分熔融的地幔橄榄岩而产生的玄武岩质熔浆都是典型的例子。深熔作用还可分为粒间深熔作用、部分深熔作用、分异深熔作用、选择深熔作用、完全深熔作用等
