神经元胞体或树突内大的嗜碱性团块和颗粒，又名“嗜染质”。旧称嗜色体。轴突及其起始胞体部则无。为尼氏(Nissl，1892)首先发现，故得名。在一些大型运动神经元，尼氏体大而多，色染深蓝或紫色，常给神经元胞体以虎斑外观，又称虎斑小体。亦可依该体的大小、染色深浅等，对神经元进行分类。
