用货币或其他量度单位计量各项经济业务及其结果的过程。其特征是以数量（主要是以货币单位表示的价值量）关系来确定物品或事项之间的内在联系，或将数额分配于具体事项。其关键，是计量属性的选择和计量单位的确定。作为财务会计的一个重要环节，会计计量的主要内容包括资产、负债、所有者权益、收入、费用、成本、损益等，并以资产（负债往往可称为负资产，而所有者权益为资产扣除负债后的剩余资产或净资产）计价与盈亏决定为核心。
