讽谕是诗的一种表现方法。讽谕指对不合理的事物不正面直言，只以微词托意，希望统治者闻而知改。就讽谕的表现方法来说，本不限於诗，而唐代白居易专用於诗，把自己所写的有讽谏意义的诗称为「讽谕诗」。这类诗作，「主文而谲谏」，有较强的人民性，使讽谕由一种表现方法而发展成为一种诗体，对後来创作影响较大。
