原料煤层气经过压缩、预处理（主要为去除水分、二氧化碳、硫化氢、汞等）、再经低温换热后（终温-162℃）,变成液态的煤层气，称为液化煤层气，简称LCPM。LCPM工艺比通常的LNG工艺相对简单，因煤层气中几乎不含氢、汞和重轻。
分离液化后生产的液化煤层气纯度达到99.86%，分离后排放的空气甲烷含量小于0.1%。
