《汉语方言常用词词典》是以记录书面中经常使用的方言词语为主的全国性的方言词典，供具有中等以上文化程度的读者使用，作为一般语文词典的补充，同时也供语文教师和方言工作者参考。词典中所收条目，包括方言字、方言词、方言俗语等，共约11700余条。
这些方言词符合《汉语方言大词典》(以下简称《方言大词典》)的收词标准却未被收录。
