振动频率f是物体每秒钟内振动循环的次数，国际单位是赫兹 [Hz]。频率是振动特性的标志，是分析振动原因的重要依据。 振动物体在单位时间内的振动次数，常用符号f表示，频率的单位为次/秒，又称赫兹。振动频率表示物体振动的快慢，在振动的致病作用中，频率起重要作用。大振幅低频率(20Hz以下)的振动，主要作用于前庭器官，并使内脏发生位移；小振幅，高频率的振动，主要对中枢神经及各种组织内神经末梢发生作用。
