下古生界,约5.7-4.05亿年前。包括寒武系、奥陶系、志留系,分布在各大造山带和拗陷内。分两种沉积类型:塔里木一昆仑山地区寒武系、奥陶系为浅海一滨海相碳酸盐岩一碎屑岩建遣,志留系为碎屑岩建造;天山一准噶尔地区以中酸性火山岩和碎屑岩为主,博罗科努山为碳酸盐岩建造。
