银炉，1.亦作"银炉"。2.白银香炉。3.旧中国铸造宝银的机构。清代有官设和私营之分。官设银炉多附设于藩库及关局等机关内。清末以后﹐私营银炉盛行﹐在上海﹑汉口﹑天津等各大城市都有设立。银炉在北方称"炉房"。业务以受当地银钱业委托代铸宝银为主﹔亦间有兼营银钱业务者。
