木金乡位于湖南省平江县境东部，东靠龙门镇，西、南邻长寿镇，北连虹桥镇大坪乡。建国前为木贞乡七保；建国后为木瓜、大桥、三合、金坪等乡；1995年撤区并乡，木瓜，金坪乡合并为木金乡。面积122平方千米，人口24000人。辖14个村，142个居民小组。乡政府驻木瓜集镇。
