北峰海拔1614米，为华山主峰之一，因位置居北得名。北峰四面悬绝，上冠景云，下通地脉，巍然独秀，有若云台，因此又名云台峰。峰北临白云峰，东近量掌山，上通东西南三峰，下接沟幢峡危道，峰头是由几组巨石拼接组成，浑然天成。绝顶处有平台，原建有倚云亭，现留有遗址，是南望华山三峰是苍龙岭的好地方。 北峰峰上景观颇多，有影响的如真武殿、焦公石室、长春石室、玉女窗、仙油贡、神土崖、倚云亭、老君挂犁处、铁牛台、白云仙境石牌坊等，且各景点均伴有美丽的神话传说。
