abstract:Italus or Italos (from Greek Ἰταλός) was a legendary king of the Oenotrians, who were among the earliest inhabitants of Italy. In his Fabularum Liber (or Fabulae), Gaius Julius Hyginus recorded the myth that Italus was a son of Penelope and Telegonus.
