Defence advocate Frank Gallagher said a medical report explained the start of Boag's amphetamine habit after his involvement in the Gulf War in the early 1990s.
Mr Brown said Cox was the "directing force" in the amphetamine supply, using Carnegie as a courier and Boag's home as a safe house for storing and packaging.
