abstract:MacLellan, McLellan, or variants thereof, is a surname of Irish and Scottish origin. The name is an Anglicisation of the Scottish Gaelic Mac Gille Fhaolain, and the Irish Gaelic Mac Giolla Fhaoláin, which meant "son of the servant of (Saint) Faolán".
