鹏鲲，典故名，典出《庄子集释》卷一上〈内篇·逍遥游〉。北方的大海里的鲲，变化成为大鹏鸟，翅膀拍击水面激起三千里的波涛，盘旋而上直冲九万里高空。后遂以“鹏鲲”等比喻具有雄才大略的人。
我们前面说的有关鲲及鹏的故事，历史中记载汤与其臣子棘之间也有大同小异的说法。
In history a story similar to the said story of the Kun and Peng was mentioned in the talk between Emperor Tang and his courtier Ji.
“鲲”只有当初勇敢地离开海洋，挑战苍穹，“鹏”才能跃上九天，“鲲鹏”才有展翅翱翔的这一天。
Originally only kun was brave enough to leave the ocean and challenge the sky, Peng was able to spread the wings so wide and fly in the sky.
