鹏海，典故名，典出《庄子集释》卷一上〈内篇·逍遥游〉。鲲化鹏，飞上九万里高空徙往南溟，南溟，南方的大海。后遂以“鹏海”等指南海。
这将是继2008年9月的神舟七号任务和2012年3月的神舟九号任务之后，景海鹏的第三次太空飞行。
It will be Jing's third spaceflight following his Shenzhou-7 mission in September 2008 and Shenzhou-9 mission in March 2012.
50岁的景海鹏是这项任务的指挥官，他告诉记者：“虽然这项工作具有挑战性、风险性和危险性，但我没有其他更愿意做的事了。”
